Session 06 - Vegas Vacation, Zombie Vexation - Wrap-Up
Narrative Recap
The team’s 48-hour pass in Las Vegas took a violent turn as they found themselves in the parking lot of a medieval-themed dinner show, besieged by a swarm of nine-foot-tall armored insects. While Guy commandeered a Lexus from the valet, Ronnie sniped the creatures, and Sammy unleashed explosive rounds. Jens, after a brief consideration of finding a sniper’s perch, opted for a more direct approach with frag grenades. They were unexpectedly aided by a group of Brittany clones and, eventually, knights in armor pouring out from the dinner show itself.
Just as the tide seemed to turn, a massive ball of powered combat suits, including the team’s own, crashed down from the sky, bringing with it another squad of operatives led by Major Jenkins. The impact, however, tore open holes in the ground, from which more bugs began to emerge. The combined forces of the two teams, the knights, and the Brittany clones managed to wipe out the insectoid threat. Jenkins then revealed their new mission: a zombie outbreak in Los Angeles, extending an invitation for the team to join despite their leave.
A rift formed in the group’s plan. Jens and Sammy, along with the original Brittany, chose to join Jenkins’s team and head to L.A. to fight the undead. Conversely, Guy and Ronnie, feeling their leave was unjustly interrupted, opted out. They commandeered a party bus, gathered the medieval knights, and headed to a strip club to enjoy the remainder of their time off, with Gordon Ramsay, one of the knights, taking over the club’s kitchen.
In Los Angeles, the suited-up team landed and immediately headed towards screams, finding a city bus surrounded by a horde of zombies. They engaged the undead, first from a distance and then in close-quarters combat, clearing the immediate threat and allowing the civilians on the bus to escape. As the rest of the horde descended upon them, Jens set an explosive mine, which wiped out a significant portion of the shambling monsters. The rest were dispatched with brutal efficiency.
Their victory was interrupted by the arrival of the Dragon, a powerful individual carrying two people: a man with glowing hands known as the Regenerator, and a feral zombie woman. The Regenerator claimed the woman was his wife, Patient Zero of the zombie plague, whom he had accidentally reanimated. He believed another meteor fragment could cure her. The entire group was transported back to the Voss-Voss facility, where Guy and Ronnie were also recalled from their revelry. At a tense meeting, Voss agreed to help, securing Patient Zero and the others. The session ended with simmering tensions between the team members, a scheduled showdown on the obstacle course, and the revelation that a world-ending entity was heading for Earth.
Memorable Moments

During a chaotic battle against a swarm of monsters, with knights and Brittany clones fighting alongside the team.
The Regenerator reveals he caused the zombie apocalypse by trying to resurrect his dead wife, who became Patient Zero. He believes another meteor fragment can cure her.
After being brought to the team by the mysterious Dragon, seeking their help at their high-tech base.
“This is so much better than fighting zombies in L.A.” — Ronnie Vint
While at a strip club, watching Gordon Ramsay yell at the kitchen staff as a stripper dances on his lap.
“You know, I’m going to get you back, you son of a bitch.” — Guy LeFleur
Confronting Miller after discovering he had tampered with his power suit, setting the stage for future conflict.
Ronnie, using Guy’s admin password, discovers and deletes a hidden command in Guy’s suit that would have allowed Miller to remotely disable it.
While Guy was angrily trying to figure out why his suit was malfunctioning, Ronnie quietly fixed the problem and uncovered their rival’s sabotage.
PC Carry-Forward
Ronnie Vint (Ant)
- Counter-sabotage against Miller: Using Guy’s admin password, Ronnie found and deleted a hidden remote-disable command Miller had planted in Guy’s suit helmet. He fixed it quietly while Guy raged about the malfunction. Ronnie now has direct, personal evidence that Miller is sabotaging the team’s equipment. (He follows this thread hard in Session 07.)
- Refused the L.A. mission: Sided with Guy in declining Jenkins’s zombie call-out, on principle — their leave had been earned. Commandeered a party bus and continued the bender until command issued a full recall.
- New power manifesting in combat: During the Medieval Times fight, Ronnie collapsed a bug by “concentrating his anger on it” — his energy-drain ability appears to be developing a ranged/directed application beyond involuntary touch.
- Master password still secret: No indication he has revealed the program-wide suit kill-switch password to anyone.
Guy LeFleur (Timmah)
- MAJOR — Suit sabotaged by Miller: Guy’s suit helmet contained a hidden remote-disable command planted by Miller. Guy spent the recall furious and confused about the malfunction until Ronnie silently removed it. Guy openly vowed revenge (“I’m going to get you back, you son of a bitch”). The Enemy relationship has escalated from threats to active operational sabotage.
- Vehicular MVP: Used a commandeered Lexus as a battering ram against the insect swarm — squished one bug, injured another before the car was wrecked.
- Refused the L.A. mission: Stayed in Vegas with Ronnie. Recalled to base.
- “Hungry God” knowledge: Guy remains the only PC who saw the classified folder naming the third incoming object. Voss has now openly confirmed a world-ending entity is inbound — Guy can connect this to what he read.
Sammy Castaneda (Jay S)
- Volunteered for L.A.: Accepted Jenkins’s zombie mission alongside Jens and Brittany. Suited up, deployed, and performed as expected — tore a zombie in half with his suit-gun, then closed to sword range.
- Brittany still in his orbit: The original Brittany deployed with him to L.A. The relationship remains unresolved and is heading toward a reckoning (it ends in Session 07).
- Close-quarters confidence: Comfortable switching from suit firepower to blade work mid-fight against the undead.
Jens Hartmann (Sean)
- Volunteered for L.A.: Joined the zombie mission. Took the direct approach at Medieval Times (frag grenades rather than an overwatch perch).
- Demolitions decided the zombie fight: His timed limpet mine wiped out half the horde — the single most decisive action in L.A.
- Friction with Ronnie: Tensions between Jens and Ronnie boiled over at the post-mission base meeting, escalating to a confrontation Guy defused only by scheduling an obstacle-course grudge match. The bad blood is live.
What Carries Forward
Unresolved Threads
- WORLD-ENDING ENTITY (~1 week out): Voss revealed a former hero from another planet — a world-ending entity — will reach Earth in about a week. This connects directly to the “Hungry God” folder Guy found and to the Terra “space whale” briefing from Session 05. (Session 07: still pending; Guy is assigned to coordinate the defensive response, and Voss reveals power-transfer technology as the intended counter.)
- Patient Zero secured at base: The reanimated wife of the Regenerator is the source of the L.A. zombie plague, now contained at the facility. The Regenerator believes a meteor fragment can cure her. (Session 07: not revisited on-screen — Patient Zero and the Regenerator remain at the base, cure unresolved.)
- CANON REVEAL — Patient Zero = Jane Garcetti: The Regenerator’s dead wife is Jane Garcetti, killed in the Flagstaff crash (Session 05 handout). His attempt to resurrect her created Patient Zero and, through her, the zombie plague. This ties the L.A. outbreak directly into the established Garcetti storyline.
- Miller’s sabotage exposed (to the team, not command): Ronnie has proof Miller planted a kill command in Guy’s suit. Guy wants revenge. (Session 07: Ronnie traces the sabotage to R&D scientist Jimmy Johns, uncovers a wider blackmail scheme, and confronts Miller directly — ending on a cliffhanger.)
- Bug holes reopened in Vegas: The crashing suit-ball tore fresh holes in the Medieval Times lot, and more insects emerged — confirming the Vegas infestation is deep and active, not a one-off swarm. (Session 07: the full hive is located and destroyed.)
- Jens vs Ronnie grudge match: Guy scheduled an obstacle-course showdown to vent the team’s tensions. (Session 07: the obstacle course is used for Sammy’s power transfer; the Jens/Ronnie match is not shown resolved.)
- Knights & Gordon Ramsay entourage: Guy and Ronnie collected a party bus full of Medieval Times knights (one of them Gordon Ramsay) and strippers before the recall. Loose civilian threads left in Vegas.
- Rick Harrison artifact deal (from S05): Still unresolved — the Terra artifact sale to Rick Harrison was interrupted by the Medieval Times attack and was not revisited this session.
Player-Stated Intentions
- Guy intends to get even with Miller — explicit, stated aloud.
- Ronnie continues working the Miller angle quietly — follows it into Session 07.
- Team will assist with Patient Zero / the inbound entity — Voss secured their cooperation.
World State
- In-game date: ~May 4, 2019 (the night of May 3 rolling into May 4 — direct continuation of the Session 05 Medieval Times cliffhanger).
- Location (session end): Voss Campus R&D floor, Arizona. All four PCs recalled and present.
- Threats active:
- World-ending entity inbound (~1 week), a former hero from another planet.
- Terran Insectoid infestation in the Nevada desert / Vegas — holes still spawning bugs.
- Zombie plague originating from Patient Zero (contained for now); the L.A. outbreak was beaten back but the disease vector is at the base.
- Custody at base: Patient Zero (secured), the Regenerator (cooperating, grieving), and the Dragon (present, moving freely while the situation is assessed).
- Faction posture: Jenkins’s team and the PC team are now operating jointly. Miller is on Jenkins’s team and is actively sabotaging the PCs from inside.
- Team standing: Internal tensions high — the L.A./Vegas split, the Jens/Ronnie confrontation, and Guy’s discovery of the sabotage have all strained the unit.
- Party split resolved: Guy + Ronnie (Vegas) and Sammy + Jens + Brittany (L.A.) reunited at base via full recall.
Keeper Checklist
- [ ] Define the world-ending entity — stats, ETA, capabilities, and how it relates to the Terra “space whale” and the “Hungry God” folder. The week-long clock is now ticking. (S07: Voss’s answer is power-transfer tech — see S07 wrap-up.)
- [ ] Decide the cure mechanism for Patient Zero — does a meteor fragment actually reverse the reanimation? What happens if it fails? This is the Regenerator’s whole motivation.
- [ ] Confirm Patient Zero = Jane Garcetti on-screen — do the PCs realize the feral zombie is the famous Regenerator’s dead wife from the news?
- [ ] Miller’s fallout — Guy knows he was sabotaged and wants revenge; Ronnie has the evidence. Where does command stand? (S07 picks this up — Jimmy Johns, blackmail, direct confrontation.)
- [ ] Resolve the Jens/Ronnie grudge match — scheduled but not yet run.
- [ ] The Vegas bug holes — the reopened holes confirm a deeper nest. Is there a queen? (S07: yes — the Hive Queen, located and destroyed.)
- [ ] The Dragon’s status at base — a fragment-empowered super is now inside the facility. Does Voss trust him? Recruit him? Contain him?
- [ ] Civilian/cover fallout in L.A. and Vegas — a public zombie outbreak, a parking-lot massacre, knights and strippers on a stolen party bus. Media and command response?
- [ ] Rick Harrison artifact deal — still dangling from Session 05.
Quality Notes
- The cold open paid off the Session 05 cliffhanger immediately and escalated it well — the falling suit-ball was a strong “cavalry arrives, but makes it worse” beat (reinforcements and fresh bug holes).
- The party split (Vegas hedonism vs. L.A. heroics) gave both halves of the table distinct spotlight and produced great tonal contrast — strip club / Gordon Ramsay comedy against grim zombie horror. Worth doing again deliberately.
- The Regenerator reveal is a major emotional and plot payload, and it lands hard precisely because Jane Garcetti was seeded as a newspaper handout two sessions earlier. Excellent long-game setup.
- Ronnie’s silent counter-sabotage of Guy’s suit is a strong character beat and a good engine for the Miller subplot — note that it ran on Guy’s admin password, not the master password, so the master-password secret is still intact.
- Watch the entity-clock pacing: a one-week doomsday timer plus an active infestation plus a contained plague is a lot of simultaneous pressure. Session 07 sensibly tackles the infestation first.
- Minor continuity note for reconcile: gmassistant labels the insects “Murder Insects” / “armored insects”; these are Terran Insectoids. Filed accordingly.
Reconciliation Context
Reconciled: 2026-06-15 (Sessions 06 and 07 reconciled together)
GM Decisions
- Patient Zero = the reanimated Jane Garcetti — CONFIRMED canon. The Regenerator’s attempt to resurrect his dead wife created Patient Zero and the zombie plague. Stated openly to the team, so the PCs know. Jane Garcetti’s file updated to reflect her reanimation/undead status.
- “Murder Insects” / “armored insects” = Terran Insectoids. gmassistant labels normalized to canon.
- “Boss Voss facility” / “Voss-Voss facility” = Voss Campus; “Boss Voss” = Adrian Voss. Linked throughout.
Consequences
- The world-ending entity (a former hero from another planet) is confirmed inbound (~1 week from this session). Guy connects it to the “Hungry God” folder and the Terra space-whale briefing.
- Patient Zero, the Regenerator, and the Dragon are now at Voss Campus; the Regenerator seeks a fragment cure (unresolved).
- Miller’s sabotage of Guy’s suit (via a planted remote-disable command) is exposed to the team; Guy vows revenge. This thread is pursued in Session 07.
- The Vegas Terran Insectoid infestation is confirmed deep and active (reopened holes) — leading directly into Session 07’s hive assault.
Salvageable Prep
- No Plan file existed for Session 06 — no planned-vs-actual triage.
